Academy of Music in Łódź

As the Head of the Percussion Department at the G. and K. Bacewicz Academy of Music in Łódź I pay particular attention to dynamic development of students and young academics. Numerous solo and chamber projects contribute to dissemination of the knowledge of literature and playing techniques. A magnificent concert hall enables us to make artistic visions come true and to give concerts together with great authorities of the world of music. First, second and third cycle degree programmes enable comprehensive preparation of students for work as soloists, chamber musicians, orchestra members, as well as percussion teachers at music schools. The invited professors and artists specializing in playing timpani, marimba, vibraphone, multiple percussion, electronic percussion, snare drum, drum set, orchestral percussion instruments, as well as in instrumental theatre performances, share their knowledge and skills with others. Amongst our lecturers there have been: prof. Emmanuel Séjourné – France, dr John Wooton – USA, prof. Ignacio Ceballos Martin – Spain, Javier Nandayapa – Mexico, prof. Auglys Saulius Stanevicius – Lithuania, prof. Massimo Pastore – Italy, Garrett Mendelow – USA.
